Quality vs target size, which to use

Use quality when you just want a smaller file and don't have a hard limit, 70–80% is usually indistinguishable from the original for photos. Use target size when something forces a ceiling: an upload form that rejects files over 2 MB, an email attachment limit, or a job board that wants a photo under 200 KB.
